Hello! My name is Summer Saleh Semidi, and I am excited to be part of INTAC community.
I have been an educator for many years, teaching English and working with students of different ages, cultures, and language backgrounds. I spent many years teaching in Brazil, where my experience included ESL, English Language Arts, Science, U.S. History, and Economics. This year is especially meaningful to me because it is my first year teaching in the United States.
I hold a degree in Languages and Linguistics and a CELTA teaching qualification from Cambridge. I speak English, Portuguese, and Arabic, and my own multicultural and multilingual background has given me a special appreciation for the experiences children bring with them into the classroom.
I was born in Lebanon, lived and taught in Brazil for many years, and now call Ohio home. Having lived across different cultures has greatly influenced who I am as an educator and strengthened my belief that every child’s language, culture, and background should be valued.
My goal is to create a classroom where students feel safe, welcomed, encouraged, and excited to learn. I believe that a strong partnership between families and teachers plays an important role in helping children grow and succeed.
I am looking forward to getting to know your children and sharing a wonderful school year together!
