Biography

My name is Michelle Edenfield, and I am excited to begin my twenty-first year of teaching here at the International Academy. This year, I will be teaching 4th Grade Language Arts (reading, writing, and spelling) as well as Ohio History.

I graduated with honors in 2003 with a Bachelor’s degree in History while also completing the requirements for my teaching license. In the spring of 2005, I earned a Master’s degree in Middle Childhood Education, and in 2011, I expanded my credentials by completing all requirements to become a licensed Intervention Specialist.

In addition to supporting students academically, I strive to build a warm, welcoming, and safe classroom community where every student and family feels valued, respected, and included. Creating this type of environment requires a strong partnership between teachers and families. I believe that open communication and collaboration are key to helping every child thrive.

On a personal note, I have a wonderful husband and two wonderful sons! Both of my boys attended INTAC for preschool through eighth grade. My oldest is now headed to college, and my youngest will begin high school this year. My husband and I truly loved having our boys grow up in such a wonderful environment.
