Qur’an/ Arabic/ Islamic Studies Teacher

Position Description:

The teacher will demonstrate proficiency in the following areas:

  1. Deliver instruction in a manner that allows students to remain on task by utilizing a
    variety of instructional techniques.
  2. Demonstrate appropriate academic planning and organization.
  3. Design and employ a variety of objective and consistent assessment techniques to
    evaluate learning and development.
  4. Collect and analyze data to evaluate the effectiveness of instruction.
  5. Establish and maintain effective classroom control.
  6. Reinforce appropriate social and academic interventions using constructive methods.
  7. Maintain professional interactions with other educational personnel, parents, and the community.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 2 years teaching experience
  • Ability to work with diverse groups
  • Demonstrated knowledge of subject areas (Qur’an, Arabic, Islamic Studies)
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal

Intervention Specialist

Position Description:

The Intervention Specialist will assist teachers, school administrators, and other school personnel on the Student Support Team (SST) to:

  1. Identify the foundational areas of need for assigned students.
  2. Determine research-based interventions that meet the identified needs of students.
  3. Determine validated progress monitoring tools that will measure student growth.
  4. Collect and analyze data to evaluate the effectiveness of the interventions and make recommendations for any changes or improvements.
  5. Participate in IEP meetings and write goals and objectives for students.
  6. Participate with specialists and the SST to develop an appropriate, effective transdisciplinary approach to meet the individual needs of students.
  7. Communicate regularly with parents and professional staff regarding the educational, social, behavioral, personal, and adaptive needs of students.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in education
  • Ohio Department of Education licensure as an Intervention Specialist
  • Ability to work with diverse groups
  • Computer skills for maintaining student records and reports
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal

Pre-k Teacher

Position Description:

The Pre-K teacher is responsible for creating a safe, healthy learning environment that will support the social and emotional development of young children. The teacher will plan and implement learning experiences that advance the intellectual and physical development of children. This includes but is not limited to teaching basic skills in elemental natural and social science, literature, reading, and behavioral skills to preschool-aged children. The Pre-K teacher will encourage the involvement of the families of the children at the Academy and support the development of relationships between children and their families.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in education,
  • State of Ohio teaching license or the willingness to complete courses to transfer to another state licensure.
  • Ability to work with diverse groups.
  • Computer skills for maintaining student records and reports.
